It is bovine-based. Bovine collagen is a source of type I and type III collagen, both of which are abundant in the human body. Unlike marine collagen, bovine collagen shares the same characteristics as human collagen molecules (we’re genetically closer to mammals than to fish) and this aids its bioavailability (how our bodies can use and absorb collagen).

They are Type I and Type III collagen.

Type I makes up 90% of the body’s total collagen, providing a great deal of both mechanical and tensile strength to skin, connective tissue, bones and teeth.

Type III is predominant in the skin, muscles, internal organs, intestines and blood vessels.
