Angela Hannah

I have had a tough winter training block but have remained healthy throughout.  I have had to manage my diet and training load, but have no doubt green magic has played a vital role is supporting my immune system!

Born: Harare, Zimbabwe

Hobbies and interests: I am a true believer in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I love learning about my faith and taking part in groups activities set up by the church. Also, I enjoy catching up with friends over tea or tennis, doing puzzles and training my parent’s dogs.
Academia:
2004-2005 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy
2005-2009 2:1 BSc honours in Human Biology at Loughborough University
2012 Qualified Personal Trainer (Global Premier assessed)

I was identified by a Talent ID scheme in June 2007. The aim was to introduce more women into canoeing to train for the London 2012 Olympic Games. From nearly 10000 applicants, I am the only one who achieved the ultimate goal of reaching London 2012. In September 2007, I progressed into the British Canoe Union Fast Track programme and have trained full time for the past five years. My first year was spent catching up physically, technically and mentally with athletes already established in the GB woman’s team.
